WHY TO PHOTOGRAPH THE NATURE? It is the question that we can settle in front of an often dramatic current events and he can seem very derisory and useless to make the portrait in the tiny creatures of our countries. Beyond the passion which animates me and the pleasure to be in the nature and to observe the animal behavior, the photograph naturalist (not naturist!) is the witness of the evolution of the ecosystems of the planet. It is a good way today to testify of the changements in natural ecosystems.
The more we shall be to be conscious of the beauty of our Earth and of its wealth, the more the motivation to protect these will be real, even if it means modifying a little our behavior and the functioning of our consumerist society.
Giving the envy to enjoy the plumage of a bird or the geometry of a spiderweb, here is my ambition.
The photography also brings a testimony on the degradation of the nature.
Who did not notice the lifting of a hedge convenient to the observation of birds, the plowing of an ideal fallow land to find the fox, the destruction of a stony low wall where lived lizards or the filling of a ditch where swimming newts and others batrachians.
All this are not pessimistic and also show of realized efforts, the decreases of the doses of phytosanitary products in agriculture, the filters with particles of factories, the bans on pesticides;all this facilitate the return of a certain biodiversity. The case of the peregrine falcon is an example, nesting areas multiply including on public buildings and now on pylons of the high-tension lines.
The great horned owl gets back and populates cliffs and ancient quarries.
Photos, year after year, of the same place testify of these changes and allow to objectivize them.
We photograph well only what we like and what we know well. |
